About Horse Creek Tree
Farm
Owned by Terry
and Lona Lewis, assisted by Lee and Bunny Moeller.
Terry and Lona
Lewis started a family tradition forty years ago when they made their
first trip to cut and
choose a fresh tree for Christmas. Their goal in establishing Horse
Creek Christmas Tee Farm is to be a fun place for families to come and
start their own tradition.
The Farm is located in a
valley in the Loses Hills south of the Omaha area. The trees ready for
cutting are several different varieties of scotch pine. If you are looking
for a tall tree, there is a good selection available. A lot of care
goes into shaping beautiful trees that you will love looking at once
they are home and decorated.
Opening the Friday after
Thanksgiving. Open Friday-Sunday until Christmas
Features
Tree
selection at Horses Creek begins with a short ride on a wagon, sitting
on a bale of hay enjoying the beautiful scenery. You are free to roam
among the rows to pick out that perfect tree. You can cut your own tree
or we will cut it for you. Once back at the shop, your tree will be
shaken to get rid of loose needles, baled to help you get it home and
then loaded into your car. To warm up you are invited to come inside
the shop to enjoy a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate and a snack
of holiday quick breads.
Horse
Creek has a selection of wreathes-decorated or plain. You can pick out
an undecorated wreath and choose the bow you want put on it. If you
want to remember a loved one, we have cross wreathes for grave. Mailbox
wreathes are also available.
